Hi folks, as you have found your way here youâll know that Iâm Caroline. Iâm from a small mining village called Newtongrange, which is a few miles south of the historic Scottish capital city of Edinburgh â where I now live and work.

Iâve been writing my own material since I was at secondary school, and performing in bands on the local music scene for over 8 years. I began my solo career in March 2008 and am currently recording my first album, produced by Windmill Sound studios. The album is due for release in the first quarter of 2009. This site will update you on the progress of the album release date.

I was inspired to start composing my own material as a result of my passion for electronic music of the 80âs and early 90âs. My major influences include Erasure, A-Ha, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Alison Moyet and All About Eve. Further inspiration stemmed from female singer/songwriters such as Alanis Morissette, Sheryl Crowe, Eddie Reader, Stevie Nicks, KT Tunstall and the legendary Joni Mitchell.

I enjoy listening to all genres from rock to ambient. The varied artists I listen to include B.T, Royksopp, Paul Van Dyk, Way Out West, Niki Haris and Ella Fitzgerald.

All my songs are based on personal experience throughout my life. There are songs written about people who would never realise they were, at one time, my muse. Writing and performing gives me emotional release from these life experiences.

My musical experience includes playing saxophone for 5 years, dabbling with keyboards, and teaching myself how to play rhythm guitar.

Singing was never on the horizon until one fateful evening in Spain, where I âentertainedâ a group of Norwegian people in a karaoke bar. Madonnaâs âLike A Prayerâ, whilst under the influence of Tequila Sunrise cocktails (sounded like a good idea at the time!) went down rather well with the audience and gave me the confidence to sing in front of people for the first time. Iâve never looked backâ¦...
