Born Ireland 1978.He spent most of his early life in Cork City and was more interested in sports than music.Aged twelve he began to play the guitar and write songs and did his first demo aged 17. In his college years he played one or two gigs in a college band and then left for Prague at 22, where he began to play in nonstop bars. He recorded this first album at 23- "Violent Dawn" - with members of the Czech band "Color Factory" Rene Starhon,Noel Le Bon,Colin Stuart,Radim saxophone,Robert Amacker who made up the instrumentation on the album.
The album was co produced by Buckley and Colin Stuart who also plays bass on the album, Stuart introduced Buckley to a lot of Kirsty Mc Colls work and this would have a large influence on his development as a songwriter and as a guitar player given the strumming patterns of Johnny Marr.
Stuart is a bit of a legend himself in Czech music for his work with bands such as The Sebsatians or Color Factory who were one of the bigger bands in Czech Music in the mid nineties.
What stands out most about this album is the vocal quality of the performances on songs such as Hanging Out which has also had an influence on modern guitar playing or the football hooligan sound of Loaded Gun or the AM pop sounds of Nose dive and the gut wrenching acapella A Reply the album ends on.

Buckley in the following years played widely in the Prague area and when the history of the country was explained to him the Czech underground bands became his heroes who were at the forefront of the artistic movement against Communism. He played with two of the most famous underground bands Garage and Psi Vojaci. He has had the opportunity to record in Barrandov and has played on the famous landmark Old Town Square for St Patricks Day.The scene of Buckley crying out in the Irish language and the clock striking eight will be remembered in Praha for a quite a few years.
This album is one of the most experimental ever recorded using Buckleys natural love of strange timings and natural ability for hooks and melodies and it was one of the great accidents of that time that those two musicians would meet and record this great album which takes the listener on an emotional rollercoaster and through it all Buckley sings out the angst of a youngman careering towards the abyss.
