blue transit was formed in 2006 in indianapolis, indiana as a three-piece band comprised of guitar (james), bass (nate), and drums (daniel). the bandâs original focus was playing as a worship band for churches in need of music for their youth events and services. as they formed their indie-rock style, james began writing original material and in 2007 invited justin to add an extra texture to the music playing piano and keys.

their debut e.p., canvas heart was released late summer of 2007.

currently, blue transit is doing studio work on a second follow-up project to canvas heart. a release date has not been established. be sure to check back for more information as it becomes available.

you can catch blue transit playing at select areas throughout the midwest, including concert venues, churches, and bars. they also continue to serve at their home church, kingsway, located in avon, indiana.
