Beth Hart recorded this, her first CD, at Chick Corea's Mad Hatter Studios in Los Angeles with producer Geoffrey Leigh Tozer. Since then she has gone on to write and record many more fine songs in many other styles but this represents her roots and her first foray into serious recorded music.

She co-wrote the entire CD with Mr. Tozer and put down the tracks with her first band The Ocean of Souls. As these things happen some members of that band went on to record with her in different formats and under different names for many years to come. When Beth makes a musical connection with someone it lasts a lifetime.

Listen to this entire project and you will hear the angst and heartbreak, the soaring optimism and sparkling energy of a magnificent, powerful and poignant singer with a razor sharp point of view and an unequaled resolve. This is truly a personal deeply moving work of art.

Some have said she sings like Janis Joplin, but I don't think so. I think she sings better than that.
