Welcome to my 2007 Christmas CD. This project is a little different for me since Iâm usually rocking out. But it has a great deal of meaning to me! I have recorded a special mix of tunes to both celebrate the Christmas season and support Ground Controlâs important public awareness campaign to reduce deaths and avoid the personal tragedies caused by drunk driving accidents -- that only increase over the holiday season.

The music I chose for this CD is a real mix of songs that I hope you will also appreciate. It includes my takes on a couple of traditional classics, O Holy Night and Ave Maria, that provide a nod to my classical roots and are favorites of some people very special to me. I also wanted to bring in some more contemporary pieces and found a couple of tunes that I really love -- The Pretendersâ 2000 Miles and Dylanâs haunting Dark Eyes. I just loved these lyrics and songs⦠and I hope that you will like my version of their tunes. Iâm also introducing an original song, Never Again, that I wrote with this CDâs wonderful producer, Jon Carroll. With the holidays in mind this tune was specifically crafted to present the important Ground Control drunk driving prevention message.

Ground Control has a unique focus by using music as a means to target its message to my teenage peers. I was honored this year by being named Ground Controlâs national spokesperson and this project is one of my personal contributions to advance the mission of the organizationâs important cause. Alcohol related traffic fatalities are the primary cause of deaths among teenagers in the U.S. And it's totally preventable!
