James S Rutherford has firmly established himself as a respected songwriter, performer and musician having played the LA club circuit for many years. He is a graduate of M.I., the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, and is a successful businessman and actor. To friends and fans he is best known as Jimmy.

In 2004, James joined forces with producer and AMC recording artist Daniel Bautista to form the rock band OPEN WINDOW. While in the band, James played guitar with a style and passion that hinted at a wide array of influences and had a charismatic stage presence that made a connection with his audience. Danielâs distinctive vocals were both rich and velvety. Rounding out the band was Wayne Rothstein on bass and vocals, and John Aponte on drums. In 2006 they were honored as nominees for "Independent Rock Album of the Year", and received the award for "Best Lyrical Content" at the 16th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards where they performed live on the main stage.

James leads an extremely blessed and fulfilling life as a devoted father, businessman, singer/songwriter, actor & author. In spite of the many demands on his time, he managed over a period of a couple years to write several songs for his debut solo album, FREEDOM, which was released in December 2007.

With his second solo album, releasing in time for Memorial Day, James returns to his classic rock roots. WIN SOME LOSE SOME has a harder edge and more of the masterful guitar riffs he amazed us with previously. It is hard to believe that he gave birth to this work of art in just a little over a year. As extraordinary as his first was, this one is bigger, bolder, better. He is accompanied this time by Chris Sax on drums and Matt Thorne on bass, keys, backing vocals and production. The end result is a collection as balanced and professional as it is unique and inventive.
