Details:
At an age when most teenage males are worried about high school sports and girls, Johnny B at age 15, bought his own studio making 18 songs within 2 months. With production expertise underneath his belt, Johnny B recorded most of his first album âYoung Starâ to be released on his own record label, Young Cincy Records. Born in 1992, John Bland II moved from New Orleans, LA to Cincinnati, OH as a child. Son of playwright, Sylvia Thomas, he experienced the rigors of show business early on. Playing alto saxophone from 2003, Johnny B went on tour with the gospel play âI Used to be a Church Girlâ (a national touring play written, directed, and produced by his mother) as lead alto saxophone in the playâs band.

In 2005, Johnny B got into recording hip-hop at his high school studio. What started as a school project, developed into something much greater. Later, in 2006, he began producing using Fruity Loops. By 2007, with his passion for rapping and producing hip-hop, Johnny B created the song âYoung Starâ.

With his entrepreneurial spirit and his motherâs faith, Johnny B bought his own studio in the summer of 2007. His mother created Young Cincy Records, an independent record label, after hearing his tracks because she knew he would be a star. He currently owns 30 of his record label. With an established record label and the potential to be a star, Johnny B and his music caught the attention of Atlanta Streettalk Queen, PBrown. PBrown, then introduced many key players to Johnny. Continuing with his movement forward, Johnny B went back to the studio to record his 1st single âDo Yo Danceâ. The song is produced by both Sparkz the Trakman and Johnny B. Johnny then traveled back to Atlanta to record his mixtape âYoung Star vol. 1â with DJ Judge Mental. While in Atlanta, Johnny B gained the attention of marketing guru Jimmy Sparks. The next day, after meeting with Jimmy Sparks, Johnny B recorded his first Mix-tape with DJ Judge Mental "Young Star vol. 1" On April 22nd Johnny B had his first ATL private Premier show hosted by DJ Holiday and ATL Record Pool, with DJ Judge Mental on the 1's and 2's. The Premier gave him a lot of connects and a whole lot of respect in the ATL!
With an array of influences, Johnny B brings something new, fresh, and different to the industry unlike his favorite rappers on the radio now. As he states, âmy influence really comes from all genres of music, as seen in my beats.â He takes gospel, Hip-Hop, Rap, Jazz and R&B and encompasses them into his songs. Be prepared for the Album, âYoung Starâ.
