INTRODUCTION
1. Purpose of Manual
The AIRPLANE RECOVERY MANUAL is intended to provide A.irlines and
Airport Authorities with optimun planning, preparation and
accomplishment data For the li'fting and moving of a disabled
aircraft which may be obstructing airport traffic.
2. Scope of Manual
The Manual contains general information covering the different
airplane models. Of course, it will not be easy in every instance
to locate all the requisite data in the Manual within a
a very short time ; it is hence advisible for Airport Authorities
and Airlines to use this Manual to jointly draw up one or
more schemes based on their specific requirements, equipment
available as well as on recommendations contained in publications,
such as the U.S. Federal Aviation Agency circular AC
150/5200-13 of August 27, 1970, entitled "Removal of Disabled
Aircraft", and the specification written by the "ATA Aircraft
Recovery Subcommittee". Endeavours are made for the information
in this Manual to comply with that the Aircraft Technical
Specifications ; however, in case of conflict, the Aircraft
Technical Specification shall prevail.
3. Statement of Data Effectivity
The data effectivity shall be stated either within the text, or
with the title at the bottom of the page.
Note : A page with no statement of effectivity either in the
text or in the title at the bottom of the page is
effective ALL versi.ons.
