Details:
The group is based in Stockholm and have been playing together since 2003. In addition to countless performances in Sweden Lele Lele have done two tours in Bulgaria, performing together with kaval master Theodosii Spassov. They won a gold medal at the Albena Folk Music Festival and have toured Serbia, Slovenia, Italy and Austria.

The starting-point for the group was to take the captivating and distinctive melodies of traditional Bulgarian folk music and arrange them in a unique way for tamboura (not to be confused with the Indian instrument tampura), sitar, tablas, saxophone, clarinet, tuba and voice. The odd meters, the open improvisations, the daring arrangements and not the least the unusual combination of instruments give the band its unique sound.

While listening to the music of Lele Lele youâll be transported to a musical wonderland where delicate improvisations sit side by side with neck-breaking balkan grooves and dramatic arrangements, all spiced with a pinch of humour.
