Calling the fight is a recording project started by songwriter/producer Ben McCall and long time vocalist Jeremy Melloul. The two began writing in spring 2008 and found an immediate chemistry while writing there first song âchangeâ. With McCallâs musical arrangement ability and Melloulâs vocal melodies and lyrical skills they quickly wrote a half dozen more songs over the next few months. Their potential was fully realized when they caught the ear of fellow song writer, friend and producer Jim Dugan who encouraged their song writing development by giving musical suggestion while taking a very hands off approach in the studio. When the time came to produce and record the songs, Melloul, McCall and Dugan called on established engineer and producer Rich Isaac. In the studio, McCallâs musical arrangements came to life through the interpretation of Island Styles (guitar), Scott Ensign (bass) and drummer/percussionist Andy Hamburger. Their first self titled EP was released a year later and is a representation of two friends writing their lives into music.
