12 MP3 Songs in this album (30:24) !
Related styles: KIDS/FAMILY: Educational, KIDS/FAMILY: Sing-Along/Interactive
Details:
Growing Sound is an on-going celebration of positive growth through songs, books and videos. Children have fun singing while parents help their children develop skills that make them ready for school and ready for life. Childhood educators and researchers participate and observe as the latest findings in child development and brain research are practiced in school and at home.
David Kisor is an accomplished composer, performer, and teacher who lives and works in Northern Kentucky. He is presently the Music Director for Children, Inc. Over the past twenty years he has written extensively for the classroom and the stage, including works for The Ensemble Theater of Cincinnati, The Childrenâs Theater of Cincinnati, The University of Cincinnati Preparatory Department and dozens of school residencies from preschool to high school.
One of his largest projects with Children, Inc. was the âSongs of Resilienceâ, a four CD set with a teacherâs manual that has been distributed across the nation to help teachers promote resilience in young children. These songs and selected activities from Songs of Resilience can be found under Social & Emotional Songs. To further meet the needs of children, their families and teachers, bilingual versions of select songs have been recorded with Un Mundo. David has performed selections from the Songs of Resilience and conferences for the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the National Head Start Association.
David also collaborated with the Cincinnati Childrenâs Hospital Medical Center Division of Speech Pathology on the Music in My Mouth project. Songs such as Tip of My Tongue and Suzie the Snake are designed to be used by speech therapists and parents as adjuncts to speech therapy.
David and Tom Lottman recently collaborated with the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Louisville on a research project to promote mastery motivation in children through the Songs of Motivation.
