Details:
Big Beat Theory is a funk album released in early 2009 by Aaron Mendes (aka Mendism). It is a fusion of funk, jazz, and electronic music. Most of the songs are keyboard driven with ripping Hammond B-3 organ and Wurlitzer piano licks supported by funky basslines, wah wah guitar riffs, horn sections, Latin percussion, techno beats, and cool sound effects. Aaron calls this style of music "Acid Funk" although technically there is no genre named as such. It's a unique album that will be enjoyed by funk, jazz, techno, dance, and pop aficionados alike.
The group Mendism consists of 1 man: Aaron Mendes. Aaron Mendes has loved music since he was a child when he played blues piano by ear and liked to jam on a little Casio keyboard his mother bought him. At the age of 14 he began playing guitar. Since then he has composed hundreds of songs and plays 5 instruments proficiently: guitar, keyboards, bass, drums, and congas. Aaron lives with his wife Maggie and bulldog Yogi in Encinitas, CA USA and works full-time as Vice President of Marketing for Earnware Corporation and also as Chief Marketing Officer of Earnware owned subsidiary Wellness.com. Aaron also founded SkillWho.com, a professional and social networking site where people can share and find skills and talents. Aaron loves international travel having been to nearly 20 countries and also enjoys surfing, mountain biking, music, movies, science, philosophy, and art.
The Big Beat Theory of Music:
According to the Big Beat Theory, cosmologists believe that 14 billion years ago music began from nothing. Out of a formless void came an immense explosion of sound that created and then reverberated throughout the universe. At first there was only one massive sound, but gradually over billions of years the sounds began to differentiate into unique instruments. These instruments then combined to form rhythms, harmonies, and melodies...what we now know to be "songs."
