Brother Day Kelly is a special musical talent that sowed his musical roots from the birthplace of Ronald Reagan in Tampico, Illinois. Beginning with drums at an early age, Day played in the family orchestra with his father Dale, a drummer & a finatical jazz fan, and mother Ruth, an accomplished jazz pianist. At age 6, Day was inspired by legendary trumpeter Louis Armstrong, and began trumpet lessons at age eleven. His high school music instructor was a sax player, and Day learned this instrument also. After high school Day attended Illinois Wesleyan University as music major and then was driven to attend the North Texas State University Jazz education program, which has produced some of the finest players in the world!

After college Brother Day played trumpet for entertainers & artist including Bob Hope, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Doc Severinson (of The Tonight Show), Lana Cantrell, and toured as Jazz trumpeter with the Ray Charles Orchestra! After droping out of the music scene for some years, Brother Day picked music back up and began playing piano and singing in a small AME church in 2002, and that jump started his return to music, now adding singer/songwritter/pianist to his venue! Day's current musical portfolio includes his original contemporary songs and compositions, as well as a songs done by Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, James Taylor, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and others! What makes Brother Day truly unique is his ability to perform world class solos on both trumpet and sophrano saxophone while offering exciting vocal interpretations of both standards and original songs with piano accompaniment! As a composer and performer, Brother Day brings a wealth of talent, experience, and diversity to his audience. In his shows Brother Day uses a profesional sound system which allows him to perform on piano, trumpet, sax, and to sing, giving a unique and professional sound even while performing solo. He is equally at home performing for weddings, parties, events, fine restaurants, bars - just about anywhere good music is appreciated!

"The Best of Brother Day Vol. 1" is all original music, recorded in Nashville, TN with producer/engineer Daniel Dennis of Dennis Productions, incredible guitarist Charlie Worsham of King Billy, Mike Daily of Hank Williams, Jr., and others. Brother Day's incredible diversity as songwriter, arranger, instrumentalist, and vocalist will be evident on the new CD.
