Biography:
Jay Flash is a musician who has lived in Wisconsin his whole life and currently lives in Milwaukee. He is 26 years old and his music style would fall in the genre of "Experimental Folk". He sings as well as playing both guitar and keyboard. He has been playing piano since childhood and writing songs for the last ten years. He started playing live concerts last Spring, and since he has played many different venues in Milwaukeeâs downtown scene. He has also traveled to Chicago, Nashville, and New York City to play various gigs and festivals. His primary influences are folk legends such as Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake, and Bob Dylan, while his more recent influences include Radiohead, Bjork, and Animal Collective. Jay Flash also released an album called âThe Loserâ last November which employs a variety of different styles and exceeds an hour in length. This album received critical acclaim from a Belgian CD Review site named Rootstime. Rootstime included Jay Flashâs âThe Loserâ in their 2008 Top Ten List for albums by new artists. They said of him: âUndeniably, [Jay Flash] is a very talented musician, because otherwise you may not like music in this world where the scorched and goose bumps moments succeed each other...Yet there are lively exchanges with some hope hidden amidst all this doomsday thinking and melancholy narrative.
