âI want to learn how to meditate!â More and more people are becoming aware of the value of meditation for many areas in their lives: spiritual growth, physical healing stress management, sleep disorders, etc. Yet the ability to quiet ourselves and become inner focused is SO DIFFICULT for many of us. The Imagine Meditation Series provides an introduction to a variety of meditative techniques including guided imagery, visualization, deep body relaxation, and repetitive drumming for shamanic journeying. An instructional booklet gives an overview on these techniques and helps you develop a program to incorporate the art of meditation into your daily life.

Also included are instructional sections addressing key elements to the art of meditation.

Lesson 1 - Becoming Centered
A fundamental element of meditation is the ability to focus our thought. Guided imagery is helpful in that it provides us with something to focus on, as we find out how difficult it is to maintain focused thought for even a short period of time. We âgather our attentionâ, and bring it into our center, or our Heart. In becoming centered, we are able to perceive, or experience from our Heart, which opens the door to intuitive thought and inner guidance.

Lesson 2 â Intuitive Thought and Inner Guidance
Using the skills learned in Lesson 1, a guided imagery piece is used to apply these and develop our ability for intuitive thought and inner guidance. Hang Glider is rich with symbolic meaning; the main theme has to do with confronting fears and taking a leap of faith. By experiencing this from our heart, we will begin to see how we can use the symbolic meaning for guidance in current life situations.

As your âfriendâ brings you to the edge of a cliff and asks you to jump, you must examine the relationship between fear and trust. By gathering your attention, you might experience the feeling of the fear as you look over the edge of the cliff, but then feel the joy that comes with taking a leap of faith and finding that you really could trust, and that you are supported. You will see how this applies to current situations in your life and begin to use this as an inspirational tool that will improve your daily functioning. For those that practice the 12 Step program, Hang Glider is especially effective for addressing the principles of Steps 2 and 3.

Lesson 3 - Finding Your Song
As you develop your ability to become centered, you will be ready to take another step in utilizing meditative techniques to improve your daily functioning. âFinding Your Songâ will allow you to be able to shift into a place of feeling joyful, alive, and free- at any moment. As you progress, you will see how your experience in meditation can be carried over to your regular waking state and allow you to achieve a drastically improved overall level of functioning.

About the CD tracks
This CD is designed to allow the listener maximum efficiency for use. Individual track numbers for each section allow the listener to skip ahead to the portion to be used at a given time. For example, you can skip the lesson and go straight to the relaxation; or you can skip the relaxation as well and go straight to the meditation. Also, a substantial amount of time is given at the end of the meditation pieces before the next section begins to avoid disturbance while you are coming out of your relaxation. A short period of time is given at the beginning of the breath and body relaxations to allow you to take your place after pressing play
