Tarahan has just released their debut album, Tarahan's Town, resurrecting the spirit of a once distinct area of St. Johnâs and the people who dwelled there.

Tarahanâs Town, named after a local store owner, was the moniker given to an area of downtown St. Johnâs Newfoundland in the mid 1800âs. It is where the poorest of the poor lived and was literally burned to the ground in two separate fires in 1855 and â56 much to the delight of media and others in the city who scorned the tough attitude and lifestyles of poverty-stricken locals. Some would say that it was where the real people lived. The people of Tarahan's Town eventually spread throughout the city and now form an essential part of the fabric of the St. Johnâs of today we know and love, a place characterized by artists, writers and storytellers.

Based out of St. Johnâs Newfoundland, these five lads stem from various musical and geographical backgrounds. Diversity in musical ability and influence coalesce to create the energy that has become Tarahan. Formerly known as Napper Tandy, the band engages audiences of all ages during live performances. Whether playing at festivals, concert halls, pubs or corporate venues, Tarahan never ceases to create a powerful, yet heart-felt session of great entertainment. From benevolent ballads to driving drones and shameless shanties, the pleasure is shared by band and fan alike.
