After five years in Denver and the release of two CDs, The Christines relocated to San Francisco in 1997. The songs on Here It Comes Again were written by the band during 1998-2000. Recording began in 2000 and was finished five years later. After sitting on the recording for another three years, the band finally decided to release the CD in December 2008.
A departure from their shoegaze flavored earlier work, Here It Comes Again is more stark, textured, and dynamic. Melody has not left, but it's less dreamy, a bit more tense than before.

"Although this record was put to tape around a decade ago, the resurgence of psychedelically tinged indie pop has made the Christines' music both ahead of its time and eminently contemporary. Uniting elements of space rock, indie pop, psychedelic garage rock and power pop, the band has progressed beyond its excellent first two records, forging a sound uniquely its own. Guitar sounds swirl around each other beautifully while the rhythm section provides each track's ebullient momentum. Clearly a good deal of time was spent putting together the track arrangements, because the pacing is impeccable.
