Details:
The basses and experimental electronics of Nicholas Slaton (slicnaton) combine with the electro-acoustic drums of Ian Davis to form the âbasendrumsâ duo. After playing a variety improvised gigs together, Nicholas made 6 recordings which he emailed to Ian who then over-dubbed his own parts and emailed them back. This exchange continued several times before scheduling a joint recording session. Slaton then edited the resulting tracks into âbasendrumsâ.

Ian manages Umbrella Records and Assembled Sound. Davis' credits as a drummer include improvisations with Micro Collective Orchestra, Micro-East Collective, Jason Bivins, Mahlon Hoard, Unstable Ensemble, Frank Gratkowski and The Dave Fox Quartet. Experimental bassist and electronics producer, Nicholas Slaton (slicnaton) is a performer, producer and label executive (Extemporate). Slaton has performed with Mahlon Hoard (Mahlon Hoard slicnaton), Mietek Glinkowski and Julian Sparacino (Trio slicnaton), Frank Gratkowski, Small Life Form and many more.
