A mixture of scottish, country and original material with our own sound.
12 MP3 Songs
COUNTRY: Modern Country, FOLK: Modern Folk
Details:
Father and son duo Jimmy and Angus Milne have between them over eighty years of professional musicanship, ranging from them both working as solo artists to them working with other musicians including Bobby Macleod, Norman Maclean, Marc Duff(Angus was the original guitar player in what is now known as Capercaillie), Donald Shaw, Neil Dunnachie and George Smith.
Early influences on Jimmy included a trip to see Big Bill Broonzy with his Dad at the Playhouse in Edinburgh, Aker Bilk whom he booked to play at the agriculture students dance at Edinburgh University and of course Elvis without whom, Jimmy may have stuck to trad-jazz on piano and never learnt to play guitar.
Angus' early influences include sitting on the household piano and hearing mod gold medallists including the Macmillan sisters and his first listening to "Johnny Cash at San Quentin" and Luter Perkins single note muted guitar solos, Chuck Berry, Chet Atkins and later his friend and mentor Frank Henery.
However, the single most influential ingredient in the Angus and Jimmy sound is the peace, tranquillity and beauty of their home, The Isle of Mull on Scotland's west coast.
We hope you enjoy the CD.
Angus and Jimmy.
