First full-length CD from Pleasantville native, featuring rock, folk, alternative, country, and more..
15 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Folk Rock, ROCK: Acoustic
Details:
This is my first full-length solo LP, featuring 14 original songs, such as "Matters of the Heart", "If It's True", and "Remembrance", which was chosen to be on Episode 21 of the Discovery Channel's "Dr. G: Medical Examiner" show. The record features many different styles, ranging from folk to rock to alternative to country to just about anything else I could come up with. It features the production talents of Nicolas Pesce of fishBIT and GW Duncanson of Gingersound Studios. Half of the songs were recorded in my basement studio over a four month period, some of the songs were done at Geoff's, and the rest at Nick Pesce's on a 4 track tape machine. I'm really proud of this as my first full body of work and it was good to get this one out there.
Enjoy,
Anthony

About Anthony da Costa...
"While most teenagers spend their school days dreaming of being their rock ânâ roll idol, Anthony da Costa, a Bob Dylan-obsessed 14-year-old, is playing and sounding very much like hisâ¦" -James Fanelli, The Patent Trader
Anthony da Costa is a folk/indie/alt rock, singer/songwriter from Pleasantville, New York. At age 15, he is the youngest member of the Hudson Valley folk music collective, Tribes Hill (www.tribeshill.com). Anthonyâs musical influences are diverse, ranging from Bob Dylan and The Band, to Dan Bern and the Beatles, to Neil Young and Ryan Adams.Known for his unique interpretations of classic songs â from Dylanâs âBoots of Spanish Leatherâ to Bernâs âGod Said Noâ â Anthony has gained strong acceptance for his original work â beginning with his 2005 debut EP, âAlready There.â A prolific songwriter, Anthony released three, new CDs during the first half of 2006, including Rearrange, a collection of 14 originals. Anthony is also an accomplished, largely self-taught musician, playing the guitar, mandolin, harmonica, piano, drums, djembe, trombone and just about anything else he picks up.
Anthonyâs performance schedule is equally prolific. He is a regular on the Hudson Valley coffee house circuit, performing straight, two-hour sets at such venues as Coffee Labs (Tarrytown), the Dragonfly Café (Pleasantville), Peekskill Coffee House, Chthonic Clash (Beacon), the Common Ground Coffee House (Hastings), the Starving Artist Café (City Island) and the Boone Dog Coffee House (Brewster). In 2006, Anthony was featured at a special showcase at the legendary Towne Crier (Pawling) and has played at the Paramount Center for the Arts (Peekskill) and the storied Postcrypt Coffeehouse (Columbia University). A member of the Folk Alliance (www.folkalliance.org), Anthony also performs at regional folk festivals, including the Pleasantville Music Festival, and at Acoustic Live showcases at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference.
Anthonyâs greatest joy is sharing the stage with great singer/songwriters, like Fred Gillen, Jr., Rich Deans, Matt Turk, Montgomery Delaney, Pat Wictor, Red Molly, Steve Kirkman and even Pete Seeger! Inspired and influenced by their musical artistry and integrity, he considers them to be among his musical heroes. In turn, Anthony actively promotes their live appearances and recordings, ending his weekly emails to friends and fans with one simple request: Support Live Music!
