Details:
CharlieClarke, a Jamaican/Canadian multi-talent, Singer/Songwriter/record producer of other singers, and material of his own, was born in St. Catherine Jamaica. He started out his musical journey as a drummer in a wrap head church, and went on to be a dancer, in the Dance Hall circles. During his run as a new comer to the Jamaican Record Industry he had rub shoulders with some of the greatest in the business. He went to the recording studios with the house hold name from RJR Mr. Lynford Anderson. During these times he crossed with such names in the likes of Winston Riley, Hux Brown, Jimmy London, Tinga Stuwart Winston Wright, and Sid Bucknor.
One of his task was to vet the various tracks when taken, and give his opinion of their out come.
In 1972 he migrated to Canadaâs French city of Montreal, where his international input in the art form started. He Worked with top Jamaicans: Barry Collins of To-morrowâs Children, Pedro of the Incrowd band, and Joseph (Scully) Burrell of the then Names and faces band. AS time passes by he saw himself observing some of the top of the pops at a top Montreal night club name: The Rocket Paradise. Here at this club were acts such as Kool and the Gang, The Floaters, and many more. From this turn in his journey out of Jamaica his thoughts towards music, and record production got a shot in the arm.
After many years in the French region he journeyed down to Toronto the multicultural city in all aspect of life forms including music. He hooked up with musicians such as Bernnie Pitters, Nathan Brockenrich , Leroy Sibbles, Bob (rechid) Ruglas, myself of whom he played on several recording sessions like Vintage For The Orient now on the world wide web. He worked at the former Great Shakes studio, and is now doing most of his work at the ever popular âSlamâ in Toronto city. To me I put Charley Clarke as a Guitar player among the late Geoffery Chung, Ian Lews, and Willy Lindo. He has a steady hand and thatâs what music needs today, to be recorded steady, and clean.
He send most of his work to Miami on wave files to be mixed by some great one down there, but when back home in Jamaica he worked with greats such as: Dean Fraser, Dwight Pickney, Keith Francis, and others.
Coming from the drums which is the heart beat of all beats, to achieving his goal, and dream as a songwriter, musician, singer, and record producer, Charlie Clarke has truly (Arrive)
