âthe disownedâ is a three piece heavy punk rock machine based out of Los Angeles, CA. the band formed in March 2008 after james and peri, two survivors from a previous project âDiefastâ, decided to join forces and start up a new endeavour. meghan mattox (My Ruin, Naked Aggression), was quick to jump on and offer her bass âslayingâ services while she wasnt being summoned to the occasional Naked Aggression gig, thus giving birth to a three fold assault weapon of hard driving guitar riffs, a blistering rhythm section and aggressive punk inspired vocals akin to a modern day âMotorheadâ. a few months later of writing, diligent rehearsing and the opening slot on Papa Roachâs anniversary show at the Troubadour, this power packed trio has developed into a tight knit unit, with a debut EP already threatening imminent release.

the band name was stumbled upon by none other than our very own âmetal meghanâ who made the discovery during a trip to las vegas one weekend. she texted james the band name from a casino, which shall remain unnamed, and immediately it struck a chord and received everyoneâs blessing soon after. how exactly our bass player arrived at the two words that comprise âthe disownedâ will unfortunately forever remain a secret, as we all know that âwhat happens in vegas stays in vegasâ¦â. nevertheless âthe disownedâ is a title the band is comfortable identifying with and we believe that there are plenty of others who will too.
