Caught somewhere between epic 80's metal and modern progressive rock lies Dartanian. We try to combine catchy maiden-esque guitars, victorious sing-along anthems, odd-metered but accessible riffs and straight up breakdowns.

It all started in 2002 when the song River was conceived by Sean, Jesse and our friend Scott on the back porch of our old house in Boulder. At that point a band was put together with the sole objective of having fun. We tend to practice on an infrequent basis and play shows even less often. We've done everything on our own terms, from booking tours to releasing records. What we always try to achieve with everything we do though is to rock as hard as humanly possible, wear ridiculous costumes, play covers of our favorite 80's songs, and from time to time bring along our pirate-robot mascot, Capt' Metal. We don't go out actively looking for new myspace "friends," but we are very appreciative of everyone who gives us a chance. So, thanks for checking us out. We hope to see you at a show soon.
