It was on two very hot mid-summer afternoons spaced a year apart that the tracks on this CD were recorded. The intent was to capture in a studio setting what the Rollercoasters have been delivering live at the many Blues haunts of Toronto during the past decade. To this end, we decided to record entirely "live off the floor", without overdubs on either the instruments or the vocals. The song material we drew from is unabashedly "straight ahead Blues", paying humble tribute to the masters of the past, while at the same time breathing into the songs a new life through improvisation, with the goal of creating our own distinct interpretation. In so doing, this incredible musical art form called the Blues undergoes a constant rebirth and renewal. We are very happy with the result, and hope that you enjoy this CD as much as we do.
