"Now, alot of the time anymore, when someone says "metalcore", I tend to cringe. The term has become way overused, and the scene is very fucking over saturated with second rate, second tier copycats, pretenders and poseurs that the word is almost a dirty word, like nu-metal became after awhile. Too many people are just jumping on the bandwagon to make a quick buck, not putting any real effort into creating good music that has some fucking heart. Enter Gone by Sunrise. A band that probably leans a little more on the hardcore end of the spectrum, but definately not shorting the metal side of things, and giving off a feel of avant-garde, with quirky, odd moments slipped into the music here and there. It just sounds fresh, not sounding like anyone in particular, but still having that familiar feeling to it. Monstrous fucking breakdowns galore, ones that don't sound like the same fucking breakdown you heard twenty minutes ago on a different CD, killer and catchy metal riffs, and plenty of screamed vocals with a few clean passages thrown in to level things off nicely."
