Ophelia Hope is comprised of a Norwegian singer, an Italian producer, an Australian songwriter and English percussionist. Despite the cosmopolitan air, the band has its 8 feet permanently on Bergen ground.

The music can best be described as acoustic pop-noir. Upon hearing the dreamy tones of Ingrid Ophelia's lead vocals, the sense of beautiful doom prescribed by the songs of Paul Holden seems all the more bearable. Fine-tuned after years of singing back-up with local artists such as Sondre Lerche and Nathalie Nordnes, the voice of Ingrid steps into the lead role with lazy ease.

Thrown into the mix is the production vision and bass playing of Davide Bertolini (Kings of Convenience) and the percussion work of new recruit Craig Farr (Scotoma, Ugress, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra).

The songs clearly want to be optimistic but struggle with the conflicting nature of human existence. Existentialist questions aside, the four members actually just like hanging out together and playing good music.
