For well over ten years, both separately and together, the musicians of HafLife have been bringing their unique sense of musical style to the masses in Detroit and throughout the Midwest.
It's been said you can't survive in Detroit unless you're straight-up rock & roll or techno, but we asked, "why create loud music if it isn't fun and if you can't shake your ass?"
So in 2000 HafLife came to be...to create a new direction in sound through the exploitation of the roots of music, to fuse classic styles in new ways, to recreate the primal and reinvent the beat, and most importantly, to bring the fun back in to live performances.
Fed up with boring bands who ignore their audiences, we strive for the maximum audience participation level allowed by law.
We don't just play music, we entertain, and that's not something many musicians do anymore, unless they're Vegas lounge acts, which, incidentally, we've been compared to.
Coined everything from Industrial Hip-Hop to electro-funk, HafLife combines the best elements of rock, funk, electronics, industrial, punk, and hip-hop to form an entirely new genre of music we like to call Bootycore.
Embraced by both the rock and electronic scenes, we have created a unique sound and stage presence that crosses all genres.
