Released in 2006, Whitfieldâs âWell Behaved & Working For Youâ generated extraordinary reviews and interest in the group. After a sold-out CD release event in Vancouver, Whitfield went on to showcase at a slew of festivals. They were awarded âBest Pop/Rock Songâ at the Independent Music Awards (International), âBest of The Festâ award at NewMusicWest, the âPeoples Choiceâ award at Toronto Indie Week, and âBest Alternative Groupâ at the Toronto Independent Music Awards. The band also supported some notable acts, including Britianâs multi-platinum Athlete.

Several songs from âWell Behaved & Working for Youâ have appeared on national television, both in network shows and advertisements â most recently promoting OLNâs (Outdoor Life Network) new seriesâWord Travelsâ. Whitfieldâs album charted on Canadian college radio and, although not officially released to commercial, received some surprising spins from a handful of regional stations.

Originally from the UK, singer Jobie Mallett united with drummer Sam Bastedo and bassist Josh McCulloch in Kamloops, BC. The trio then relocated to Vancouver where they found guitarist Jordan Irwin to complete the lineup. Since moving to the city three years ago, Whitfield has exploded from modest beginnings into an act of international calibre.

After surviving the highs of touring their acclaimed "Well Behaved & Working For You" LP, Whitfield went into hiatus for most of 2008. The band resurfaced with the personality of Gemini; some songs bouncing and big, others dark and moody. On their upcoming release "Tornado Cutie", producer Gabriel Wilson captures an organic and compelling collection of songs that showcase the subtlety and strengths of what makes Whitfield great. The first single "Top of The World" is already turning heads.
