The following, which I wrote, is my motto in life: "Aim to be the best in whatever you do; believe in yourself, and your dreams will come true".
I have been writing poetry and songs since I was twelve years old. My personal development has been the source for my writings. I have learned so much about myself as I continue to draw on all the wonderful surprises within.
A most memorable singing experience was when I wrote the song âForever All That I Amâ for a Bermudian coupleâs wedding. The song says, if you truly believe that your faith in God will take you far, it will. It pleased me to know that my words affected so many listeners that day. That sort of communion with my audience continues to motivate me to write. I began to work on this unique album after my best friend, Alberta Mae Soares urged me to do so. I dedicated âSex Danceâ to her after she said it would be nice to hear some funky, sexy, Christmas music.
Frank Owens, with whom Iâve collaborated with on my last 3 CDs, has been most inspiring. Iâm grateful for the opportunity to work with such a renowned, seasoned musician and producer. His contribution has been vital to the development of the material on this CD, and his encouragement and guidance has helped to shape and direct my work. Frankâs beautiful musical creations have stimulated my ingenuity.
The opportunity to work with and develop friendships with vocalist, Jennifer McDonald, Angela Workman and Ty Stephens has been great fun. Special thanks to my terrific husband Wayne, who has contributed to my process in so many ways and my wonderful kids (all 8 of them) who have supported me in their own way.
I thank God every day for my blessings.
