Details:
Chris grew up and lives in Edmonton, Alberta. At an early age, he showed remarkable talent and potential for classical piano. Then he discovered punk rock. Though he continued his training with the Royal Conservatory of Music, he felt continually drawn to the freedom of the punk ideology. In 2000, he recorded a short-length CD, "Opening", and in 2004, a full-length, self-titled album. Since then he's performed all over the city in local night clubs (moving his grand piano each time) along with other music halls and churches. He now plans to record another album in 2006 and has plans for a tour of Canada.

What Chris has developed is a post-rock, post-classical music, where the DIY spirit of '80s punk meets the discipline and formal experimentation of modern classical composition. Imagine Shostakovich or Gorecki interpreting the songs of Husker Du or Tom Waits. But the ideal that Chris reaches for is something else entirely. It is a new power of expression, both intimate and terrifying, where every note is true.
