In December of 1977 Glenda Vern, born and raised in Nicaragua, gave light to the second of three children in Oakland, California, and called her Melissa Stokes. Melissa was then educated and raised in Africa and the Middle East as the dependent of an American diplomat, absoring a rich tapestry of music, dance and the ancient healing arts. She then studied dance and pre-medicine at the University of California, San Diego before moving to south Florida where she currently resides as an entrepreneur and and student artist learning from world-renown, long-time accomplished musicians. As a healer, she embraces music as her favorite modality of getting to the root of all human ailments, and plans to use music, dance and science to channel healing vibrations and joy to as many people as possible.
