Details:
Ross Kessler ( Personal Profile) CD: Beach Front Home

Ross Kessler was born in Queensland (Australia) and brought up on the family farm with a hunger for music from the age of three years, he now shares more publicly his funky, jazzed surfin style rhythm to the public with his latest release âBeach front homeâ.

John Kessler, Rossâs father heavily influenced Ross to enter into the music industry as his father was recognized in the music scene, for his unbelievable famous baritone voice.

At the age of three, Ross had the desire to share his music by performing impromptu performances via the baby car seat and latter on in life, practicing singing while sitting on the tractor.

As a teenager, driving the tractor on a farm, and in between surfing he developed his voice and his passion; that being surfing and music.

At the age of 17 years he performed publicly covers of Louie Armstrong, Beatles and Led Zeppelin to name a few, were his influencesâ¦

At 23 years of age he picked up his guitar and headed overseas on a world trip where he started busking in the London Underground, Piccadilly and Lester Square meeting some very interesting and talented people. In Thailand jamming with the locals, helped him to broaden his musical knowledge and styles.

The songs on the CD have been written over a 16 year period which makes for some variation in the musical genre. The first song he ever wrote was Beach Front Home in 1987. The latest CD âBeach Front Homeâ is best described as rock, but there is also jazzy tunes, funky tunes, blues, love songs, ballads and even a bit of humor . Ross is a believer in âVariety being the spice of lifeâ.

Ross now lives in Byron Bay and has been supported by a fine group of talented musicians and friends most of which are employed at the Lismore Music Conservatorium.
With a full strength, in the production of this recording including Steve Russell on keyboards, Cameron Devine on bass, Dave Sanders on drums, Leigh Carriage on backing vocals featuring Jason Woodall on sax, and Ben Thompson with the classy guitar work.

Ross is employed in the tourism industry within a Surfari team. The dream job! Surfariâs take people from all over the world on week long surfing trips to remote national parks and beaches between Sydney and Byron Bay. This is what Ross considers as âhis gigâ sitting around the camp fire playing live music, passing the guitar on to anyone else who might like to have a go and also handing around various percussion instruments so all can get involved, âit can sound really good sometimes and really average other timeâs but the main thing is that all have ENJOYED themselves and had FUN because thatâs what music is all aboutâ.

For those who have heard Rossâs latest release - comments have included, Beaver from Bay FM â it sounds like Surfin Blues,â Leigh Carriage - lecturer from Lismore Conservatorium for Music, described it as â Beach Front Home, is a spirited, heart felt energetic funky rock album, full of optimism and it has also been richly produced.

Playing live on stage is not the biggest passion for Ross
(Though he does love it!!! ), more importantly he just wants to get his music out their and for people to here it and enjoy it and hopefully gain a positive message from it, âbecause itâs all about loveââ¦.
So whatâs Ross like as a guy? (Well in his own words from one of his songs âLivân a life of loveâ explains him quite well â¦â¦. )
âHeâs a happenin sorta chappie
And he doesnât despair
And everything about him is on the square
Sometimes he drinks and smokes a bit
But never tells a lie (yeah sure)
And everybody thinks heâs a happenin guy
Because he lives a life of love
And he loves the life he liveâs

Ps thanks to Mose Allison for his wonderful quote
