Biography
Do you remember that feeling you got when you were a kid and you fell and scraped your knee? ..or that feeling when you wake up in the middle of the night scared for no reason? Or how about when you are at your girlfriend's parent's house for the first time and you are peeing and trying to not make any splashy pee noise? And how 'bout driving home after that first date asking yourself, "Why didn't I try to kiss her"? Those sounds, those feelings, those moments, that reality, that is Matt, Marty, Sam and Ian. And they are.... Sweetheart
The boys in Sweetheart are set to release their first full length, "Map of the Human Heart" which is the follow-up to their first release aptly titled "Username", all based on a band inside joke that they invented the internet. This EP solidified their future as an established rock act on the west coast of British Columbia.
This album has been a long time coming for Sweetheart. These 4 friends have struggled through a year of life's adversity, calmly, and taken all that pain and triumph into the studio. The music that is being made on this album is much more of a testament to the strength you need to cope with the everyday and still be able to look yourself in the mirror and laugh.
...And maybe to realize your dreams...
The buzz is beginning. The tours will be booked. The album will be in stores. You will be hooked.
2006 - Highlights of the year:
- Successful showcase in Toronto for CMW '06
- Coveted slot at Music BC's Showcase for NMW '06
- Feature rotation of "We are all connected" on 99.3 the Fox & 91.3 the Zone
- top 20 finalists in 99.3 the Fox's "Vancouver Seeds" competition for 2006
- Sweetheart has been chosen for the Western Canadian Music Awards Festival in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This will take place in October the week of the 19th.
