The ragtime riverboat rats dates back to 2003 and features music that is both fun to listen to and has stood the test of time.
They present a program reminiscent of the showboat era with good old ragtime, jazz and Dixieland along with hits from the 20s through the 50s with a few surprises along the way. Composed of 4 four-string banjos, a keyboard and a tubna, their aim is to preserve and promote the style of music that has been popular and loved by all generations for the last century. All ages delight in the unique and distinctive sound of this group.
The ragtime riverboat rats, with over 200 years of combined musical experience, has performed in both large and small venues including King's Island in Cincinnati, the Syndicate Night Club in Newport Kentucky and Tall Stacks on the Ohio River as well as numerous nursing homes, the Tipp Roller Mill in Tipp City, Ohio and many county fairs throughout the state. Personal interaction with their audiences makes them extremely popular with the smaller groups. Their out-of-state performances include national conventions in Peoria, Dearborn and New Orleans.
