Electro-Folk Pop duo KOLLIOPE hail from the dreamy hills behind Byron Bay. Unfinished business in past lives assured the inevitable, though highly unlikely, coupling of two musical polaritiesâbut it was in the cardsâthe Tarot kind. Its true! The two met at the end of the last century over a tarot reading. Randolf Reimann, (programming, synths & gadgetry) is an elfin son of the errant Punk Rock Hardcore scene in Sydney (singer for legendary hardcore band, Massappeal, in fact). He couldnât take his ears off the dulcet tones coming from singer/songwriter Michelle Taylor (vocals, guitar)-- definitely folky but something radically different too. Maybe it was the NYC/East Coast Yale musical theatre/gothic siren blend? Who knows, but it wasnât long before they both knew beyond a doubt: There was out-of-this-world music to be made!
