KARLYTON KK CLANTON
Singer, songwriter from Alton Illinois. Formally of Edmonds Entertainment started singing and playing the piano by ear @ the early age of nine. Following in the foot steps of his father he began playing piano for the youth choir @ his church. By age thirteen Karlyton had written, produced and performed his first single, âALL IN A WOMAN I NEEDâ which was released in the UK on independent label SHOE STRING RECORDS. KK along with his younger brother Drop formed the group D-T-I-P which had some local success in the STL area opening up for acts like Roger Troutman, H-Town, Exscape and Mint condition. KK relocated to Los Angeles California where he met Tomika Wright the widow of the late great Eazy E . KK wrote four songs for tomikaâs r/b group Forbidden, including there first single âLET IT RAINâ. His writing skills caught the attention of Kenneth and Tracey Edmond who signed him to a publishing deal. While @ Edmonds Entertainment he wrote and produced songs for L.L Cool J, Case, Keith Sweat, Omarion, Mark Middleton, 3rd Storie and Kevon Edmonds. Heâs performed on the Chris Rock movie soundtrack âPootie Tangâ and the âSave the Last Danceâ Movie soundtrack. Heâs worked with producers Baby Face, the Underdogs, L.T Hutton, Somethin For The People, Madd Phunk and Ralph Stacey . Heâs also the winner of the 2006 L.A. Black Music Award for R/B Performer Of The Year.
