POP: 60's Pop, ROCK: 60's Rock
Details:
âdinosaur rock for the new millenniumâ
Karmatruffle is a band with something to say. Signed to a UK independent label after only six months together, this four-piece outfit has been delighting audiences all over Europe with its raw brand of sixties-influenced power pop. The band's first single, ââ¬ËShe's Not All That,â was released in July 2005.
This is what Alan Haber, host of the Pure Pop radio show, had to say about it:
"I've just been to your CD Baby page and I'm absolutely floored! This is great pop-rock, well-written, bowing to the past, but very much here in the present. I'm knocked out by all three songs on offer: the rocking ââ¬ËA Better Way,â the Who-meets-garage rocker ââ¬ËShe's Not All That,â and the very sixties mid-tempo pop song ââ¬ËLet It Go,â with its entrancing melody and hooky chorus (also, very cool guitars). The whole package rocks with confidence: great vocals and songs, and the playing chops to make it all happen. A full length is on the way? I hope it comes soon...these songs left me wanting more. You guys are very talented!"
Luckily for Alan the full-length is available now from CD Baby! Released on the Rockhopper Records label, the album thrillingly captures Karmatruffleâs live sound and covers every aspect of its diverse repertoire. From the Small Faces influenced ââ¬ËI Wanna See You Againâ to the Mersey-sound of ââ¬ËTrying To Get Out Of The Rainâ, itâs clear that Karmatruffle is still indebted to its sixties heroes. However, more contemporary influences can be felt on tracks such as the indie-rockers ââ¬ËBurned Outâ and ââ¬ËHumankind,â and in the Elliott Smith-esque introspection of ââ¬ËSugar Baby.â
Check out Karmatruffleâs ââ¬ËWhat You Do Comes Back To Youâ for yourself and see what all the fuss is about!
