I have spent my life listening to other peopleâs stories and love to tell my own. This CD is a compilation of many of those stories and experiences. It is a mix of country, folk, and blues. The title track, Gorgeous Girls is about always doing your own thing without input from the media or anyone else for that matter. Haircut can be appreciated by anyone who has gone to the hairdresser with a picture and high expectations. The Good Son is for mothers on any side of a war. It is a combination of humor, sarcasm, melancholy and inspiration. My hope is that you will listen to this CD and laugh, cry and maybe say, âI know what that is like.â I also hope you sing along.

I started out singing the blues in neighborhood, or otherwise obscure bars. It was the blues that gave me a love of greats like Wilson Pickett, Marvin Gaye, Etta James and Aretha Franklin. When I started writing my own stuff, the country/folkie girl in me came out, but I still love the blues.

My songwriting influences are Pattie Griffin, Sheryl Crow and Bruce Springstein. My most recent favorite artist is K.T.Tunstall. That little gal can do it all!

My roots are in the Midwest, specifically Iowa and Nebraska, but I have spent most of my life in either Wyoming or Colorado. I presently reside in Boulder, Colorado. Even though I come from a long line of farmers and hard workers, the more I dig into my roots the more I find fiddle players, accordion players, singers and storytellers. My momâs beautiful voice echoed in my childhood home everyday and still echoes in my heart. I am a middle school science teacher. It is a job that gives me many of my life lessons. And my hardest and most favorite job is mother. When it comes to music I am a late bloomer, but at least I bloomed!
