Artist biography: Kaila Yu was born in Taipei, Taiwan and moved to California when she was three years old.

She easily adjusted to the laidback culture of the West and grew up performing in speech contests, ballet and tap dancing performances, and traditional Chinese folk dancing.

She always loved being on stage and felt most at home when she was performing.

Kaila also organized performances with the neighborhood kids and family members involving elaborate dance numbers and skits to perform to their parents.

The performing took her away from my outcasted place in school.

She had skipped a grade in elementary school and was incredibly shy with the older group of students she now had my classes with.

She felt ignored and lonely in junior high and high school and dreamed of pursuing a singing career when she grew older.

Music has always been Kaila's passion.

Kaila began actively pursuing my singing and modeling career when she transferred to UCLA.

Shewas very naive and the entertainment industry was complicated and dangerous and I learned some hard lessons.

However, I pulled myself through and began working full time as a model and working in the Import Car show scene.
