The word "chakra" means "The Wheel of Light" in Sanskrit. When one is awakened into a higher spiritual realm, the life energy center in the spiritual domain (seven chakras) energizes. The energy produced by the seven chakras can be perceived as an aura of the seven colors.

In order to become active and awaken, the energy center requires certain wave motions such as sound and color. The interaction between sounds and colors will stimulate each of the seven chakras, therefore awakening one's spiritual awareness.

Kageki Nagao (Kagetora) is a classically trained double bassist, a jazz guitarist and a synthesizer programmer. Keiko Mizuno, a well respected meditation instructor, commissioned him to write music which would boost energy levels of the seven chakras located in our body. In this CD, he created the sounds which not only awakens the body's tonal system, but also takes you on a journey beginning from the mantle of the Earth up into the ocean, through humanity and on to cosmic space, finally reaching the Divine Universe. Each song title explains the type of chakra, their corresponding color and the gem stone.

Although purely electronic, the composer's strong influences in post romantic classical music makes the sound of "7 Chakras Plus One" reminiscent of Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss.
