As rap music continues to grow and is tagged the âlanguageâ of urban America, breakthrough artist Knine has embraced the scene with his positive form of lyrical anecdotes. Deeming himself the âPassion of Christ on wax,â Knine continues to introduce new ideas, new stories and new solutions to those who are âtired of the same oleâ thing.â

Assertive, persistent and dedicated to leading others to peace, love and life, Knine likens his image to âmanâs best friend,â displaying a spiritual boldness that emanates both on and offstage. Following the enormous success of his first, self-produced release, Regardless, Knineâs sophomore project, Born Again, serves as a true introduction to the artist. âFor my last project I wasnât sure what subjects were taboo,â he explains. âNow Iâm confident in who I am. This album is my most complete project because it reveals my whole life from beginning to end.â

Indeed, Born Again discloses the profound thoughts and feelings of a man who recognized his need for a fresh start, a new walk, a new talk, new surroundingsâ¦all of which he found through his faith. â Sometimes we have to become like babies. Iâve had to learn a whole new languageâ¦a whole new way of life.â

While the artist was introduced to Christian principles at an early age, the immediate satisfaction of fast-paced living caused him to stray away from God. During this time he recognized his talent for rap, but never gained the focus to develop his skill. In July 1999, following a near-death experience, he surrendered to Godâs call.

Today the young Milwaukee, WI native has chosen to hone and utilize his gift in a manner that glorifies God. Instead of praising the drugs and crime that he once participated in, heâs shifted his subject matter to reveal the consequences of such choices.

Beyond his achievements as a solo rap artist, he is co-owner of Regardless Entertainment Group, a record label introduced in April 2004 that carries forth his desire to relay positive messages. As his career continues to flourish, Knine asserts that the label will serve as âa haven for people to make music. I want people to be able to make music from the heart. If I can make a change that way, others can as well.â And thereâs no disputing that Knineâs music is doing just thatâchanging the face of the rap world.
