Details:
Somewhere in the corners of April 2003, Erica Petersen and Todd Hanton decided to embark into a musical fusion. This fusion was ignited by Ericaâs desire to put flesh on the skeletons of her songs. Erica and Todd recruited percussionist Corey Broman to play with them, and unknowingly the threesome began forging the ground that is now Kite Pilot.

Their first performance was a house show in the summer of 2003 in midtown Omaha, NE. Although it was rough around the edges, the word-of-mouth gospel about the originality and sincerity of the band began spreading around the micro-scene of Omaha. Two months later, the band found themselves filling in for an absent Tilly and the Wall at Omahaâs best club, Sokol Underground. This was Kite Pilotâs first exposure to Omaha proper. Just for this show, Kite Pilot asked multi-instrumentalist Austin Britton to play bass and provide a much needed low end to their sound.

After a successful show as a four-piece, Kite Pilot has remained as such. With a home recorded EP that has caught everyone by surprise, Kite Pilot is casually winning the oversaturated ears of burned out music fans.

After the initial recording of their new full-length album "Mercy will close its Doors", Kite pilot lost Corey to his passion, glass blowing. Enter Jeremy Stanosheck on drums, and the group was complete once again.

Since their eponymous EP, the band has morphed in such a way that has produced a record of dance, rock, rhythmic-economy, and full-frontal pop which permeates the entire document.
