Grafite (composed of brother team Marco/Peter Mastromattei and Eddie Festa) is a three piece power trio based in the Boston area since the late 80âs. Touring the East Coast has resulted in a large following, finally getting interest from A&M Records in New York City.

The making of there first CD went completely over budget sending Grafite into financial turmoil. The masterâs were held hostage until complete payment of the balance was delivered to the mastering studio. These events delayed Grafiteâs first release by one year.

In 1994 Grafiteâs self titled CD was finally ready for release. When Grafite legal representative presented the CD to A&M they took one look at the cover picture and said âwe are not investing into hair bands anymoreâ, due to the recent success of the âGrungeâ sound and look..

In disbelief Grafite took their first release to distribution on their own. The resistance to âHair Bandsâ was felt at all four corners of the business.

Grafite finally went back to the drawing board to re-invent themselves by changing the name and going back into the studio to work on a ânewâ sound rather than joining the grunge band wagon.

Today Grafite members have regrouped and called âLiquid Mintâ, Eddie Fest (drummer) left the band in 1996 to pursue a career in dirt bike racing. The sale of his enormous drum set was enough to purchase the top of the line Honda dirt bike! Eddie was replaced by Jeff Sadowski, long time friend of the âGrafiteâ team..
