Lindy Gravelle Background Information...
Born in Tillamook, OR, Lindy Gravelle began her musical career at the age of three playing in the family band with her father, sisters Leonore and Lorraine, and brothers Ronnie and Roger. The family moved to the eastern Oregon town of Heppner when Lindy was five. It was there that she spent her formative years, and she still calls Heppner âhomeâ today.
By the age of eight, Lindy was playing piano and singing as a regular member of the band, mostly at the Wagon Wheel, Heppnerâs preeminent restaurant and watering hole, owned and operated by her parents, Aggie and Ron. The family eventually sold the Wagon Wheel and moved to McMinnville, OR, where Lindy completed school while continuing to perform both within school and professionally at various venues throughout Oregon and Washington.
Upon graduation, Lindy decided to leave the northwest in pursuit of her musical career. After an interim stop in Californiaâs Bay Area, she eventually moved to Nashville where she worked as a singer, songwriter and performer for 15 years. While there she wrote A Bottle of Wine and Patsy Cline which was recorded by Marsha Thornton and reached the Billboard Magazine Country Top 40 chart. Another of her songs, Exit 99, was featured on Lorrie Morganâs gold-selling âWarpaintâ album.
Lindyâs Oregon roots were strong, and eventually she felt the need to return to her native state. She moved back to central Oregon in early 2000 where she continues to live today. There she writes music, performs at venues throughout the northwest, and records music. In addition to music, Lindy enjoys tennis, golf and hiking.
About the CD, ONE LUCKY LADY...
"With four out of the thirteen songs referring to the feminine gender, one might think that ONE LUCKY LADY is geared toward us girls, but gentlemen, don't despair, there's plenty of "masculine material" here too! This album definitely exposes my country roots, with nods to the legends Buck Owens and Johnny Cash, and a little splash of blues, boogie-woogie and rock 'n roll thrown in too... I enlisted some terrifically talented Nashville musicians to create the basic tracks in Tennessee and with the wonders of technology, I added my piano and vocals in a Redmond, OR recording studio to complete the work. If you're a tried and true fan or a new recruit, I'm bettin' you're going like ONE LUCKY LADY!"
