Details:
Johnny Gringo was born a po' boy (no, not the sandwich). When the Egyptians went house to house looking for him, his mother sent him floating down the Red River in an old guitar case. He somehow wound up in the heart of Texas on the raging waters of the Colorado River (some say he was gently carried there by the talons of a great Golden Eagle, others hypothesize that he took the bus). After falling over a series of huge concrete dams that harness the power of Lake Buchanan, Inks Lake, and Lake LBJ respectively, Gringo finally wound up on the banks of Marble Falls, Texas where he now calls home. His band includes the great Roland Denney on upright Bass (Lyle Lovett, Darden Smith, Hal Ketchum), Bobby Brown (no, not that one, the other one) on guitar, and Jody Thomas on Drums. All of which can be heard on this new and brave collection entitled "Red River Blues", produced by John Inmon. "Red River Blues" features several additional Texas music legends including Riley Osborn on piano/organ, Darcie Deaville and Warren Hood on Fiddle, and Mike Blakely making a cameo vocal appearance. Find out why Ray Wylie Hubbard considers John "a young poet with the soul of an old roots rocker."
