For INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE players. A video tutorial focused on "Grooving Shuffle," a cross-harp chordal stomp. An original composition by Adam Gussow of Satan and Adam.
Every blues harmonica player needs a range of ways of "carrying" the 12-bar changes on the instrument. This song is specifically designed to produce a big sound in a solo context. It teaches you how to mingle single notes and chords in a call-and-response arrangement that takes you through the first 8 bars, then how to throw in some fancy footwork on the V/IV/I changes.
Technical challenges include 1, 2, 3, and 4 draw bends, a one-octave leap, some fast triplet phrasing, and the innate difficulty of alternating single notes and chords in a lip-pursing context.
