Shuvlhed has been rocking The Northern Illinois Area since 2004. Shuvlhed has set themselves apart from the rest of the local bands as a top contender in the local Rock n Roll arena. Shuvlhed a 4pc band, brings their unique sound and a stage presence that energizes their audience, with the sounds of Heart, Metallica, Ozzy, Bon Jovi, Nickelback, Kid Rock, Elvis, Ac/Dc, Twisted Sister and Big & Rich to name a few.

Shuvlhed members consist of Michael Barker on Drums, Michael O'Connell on Lead guitars, Dan Fisher on Bass guitar and brother Duane Fisher rounds out the foursome on Lead vocals and guitars.

Shuvlhed has been a local favorite in the Northern Illinois and continues to build a wide fan base, hitting clubs & festivals from Rockford to DeKalb to the Western Suburbâs.

In January of 2008 Shuvlhed was pleased to announce that theyâd been nominated for a RAMI (Rockford Area Music Industry Award) under the âNew Actâ category. After a period of voting, Shuvlhed was Awarded the Rami Award at this past years Rami Award Ceremony in Rockford. Then in 2009 Shuvlhed again was nominated for another Rami in the classic rock division.

In May of 2009 Shuvlhed was 1 of 4 bands picked as a finalist out of 800 bands nationwide to compete in the first ever Briggs & Stratton engines Battle of the Bands. Shuvlhed finished in 3rd place in this national based contest.

Shuvlhed has also made a name for themselves as a band that likeâs to give back to their community, as this past August of 2008 Shuvlhed & The Resource Bank teamed up to hold the 3rd annual concert fundraiser called âCharity Rocksâ which Shuvlhed created to helpâs local food pantries fill their shelves with food for those who are less fortunate.
Shuvlhed was able to provide the Genoa-Kingston, & Kirkland food Pantryâs with several boxes of food and was able to give each food pantry $1000.00 dollars each.
Shuvlhed will be teaming up with the Resource Bank again this year to host the event August 1st.

Currently Shuvlhed has just finished recording their long awaited debut album âNever Restâ due out May 30th.

For those of you that donât know, a Shovelhead is a Harley Davidson style engine, however we don't want to confuse anyone as we do spell our name differently than the infamous motorcycle company.

The meaning of Shuvlhed is about a person that has been beaten down all their life, but even in the end , never gave up hope! It is our goal to instill a little bit of Shuvlhed in everyone that gets the chance to see our show. Our hope is that when you leave a Shuvlhed show , you will have felt like you've been empowered and we hope you leave feeling energized! At that point we feel we've met our goal and you will have been forever Shultized! Lucky You!!

We liked our name so much that in 2006 we Trademarked the name Shuvlhed & our Shovel in the Skull logo with the United States Patent & Trademark office.
