Lorenzo Goetz combine bouncy rhythms and clever wordplay to create infectious, head-nod music.

6 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Funk Rock, POP: Party Pop

Details:
Champaign, Illinois' own Lorenzo Goetz combine bouncy rhythms and clever wordplay to create infectious, head-nod music. Their energetic live shows and vintage style have garnered praise from around the globe. In 2005, the band traveled outside of their home state to Missouri, Kansas, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio, Iowa, Massachusetts and New York.

In February, the band will independently release its newest effort, The Heavy EP and once again hit the road. The six song disc showcases the production talents of some of Champaign and Chicagoâs finest with tracks by Andy Lund (Temple Of Low Men, Kate Hathaway, Megan Johns), Brett Sanderson (Headlights), Anthony Gravino (Music For 5 Year Olds, Goran Ivanic) and Adam Schmitt (The Living Blue). The band also self-produced two tracks in their budding home studio.

Relentless touring has allowed LG to share the stage with a wide range of artists, including; The Redwalls (Capitol), American Minor (Jive), The Living Blue (Minty Fresh), Poster Children (spinART), Centaur (x-Hum), Aveo (Barsuk), Heiruspecs (Atmosphere's backing band), The Reputation (Lookout!), Motion City Soundtrack (Epitaph), Drums & Tuba (Righteous Babe) and many more.

With several honors (C-U Music Awards Best Rock Band & Best Band Overall and The Hub Weeklyâs âBest Band of 2005â) and a growing fan base, this band has a lot to look forward to in 2006. People, get ready.

"solid, genre melding, feel good music."
- Stacy Mangual, Dailysonic.com (Flushing, NY)

"so charmingly WEIRD."
- woxy.com (Cincinnati, OH)

"groovy and soulful and sure to get you on your feet."
- Brad Amorosino, Erasingclouds.com (Philadelphia, PA)

"like what I imagine Sublime would've sounded like had they grown up in Michigan instead of Long Beach and listened to more Beatles and less Marley."
- Nick Murray, Justaddnoise.com (Wylie, TX)

âa heady mix of creative wordplay, fun sounds and friendly pop music The Beatles might have made - if they had emerged in 2004.â
- Laura Hamlett, Playback (St. Louis, MO)

âThe challenge for a Lorenzo Goetz album is to stand on its own, even if no studio recording can compare to the bacchanalian revelry that makes Lorenzo Goetz such a popular concert draw. Nor can a single song epitomize the pudding of pop, hip hop, Brit and stoner rock, and mariachi that more or less is Lorenzo Goetz, although "Muy Macho" and "Flagrante Delicto (3some)" come close. Two sides of the same coin, the former is coy and buoyant and signals that this album means business, while the latter is a sultry slow-burner that conjures images of some Gypsy tea parlor an hour inland from the Mediterranean.â
- Todd J. Hunter, The Buzz (Champaign, IL)

"as much flavor and grooves as a bucket of peppers."
- Crookedcamera.net (Minneapolis, MN)

âGroovy jams with interesting rhythms and sounds. Lennon-style vocals and songs, only with indie attitude.â
- Hybrid Magazine (Denver, CO)

â(Jesus Elephant) actually lives up to the generally ridiculous praise bands heap upon themselves, gently infusing strains of the Fab Four into its own distinctly Americana sound.â
- Leo Weekly (Louisville, KY)

âThis whole disc just grooves.â
- Jordan Schwartz, Openingbands.com (Champaign, IL)

âA little hip-hop, a generous helping of mellow rock, and a dash of retro make for a musical delicacy.â
- Meghan Groth, The Spectrum (Buffalo, NY)
