Golden Image started in 1999 by talented guitarist and songwriter Dave Johnson. Dave's vision of creating an instrumental form of music was completely outside the mainstream of modern music. Dave met up with bassist George Hollenbeck and eventually drummer Todd Winkler and the magic of creation evolved. In 6 short months, the crew had finalized 18 songs total. Mostly new songs with some re-arrangements and rewrites of older ones. As Dave often says, "A musical chemistry rarely, if ever, comes around like thisâ. The group recently finished its debut CD, 'Momentum', a progressive rock-funk CD which is currently on sale in several outlets including here at CDBaby.com. âWe are excited to get it out to everyoneâ says drummer Todd Winkler, âOur purpose is our love of music - and like Dave says, the âchemistryâ of creating it!â While making the CD, the entire project was done under wraps to avoid a miscommunication of the bands musical concept and to foster the element of surprise.
