Being raised in a musical family in Prince George BC, Corry began writing at the age of 11. By the time she was sixteen both parents had passed away but the writing continued.
After finishing highschool she immediately moved to the big city to pursue a career in music. After recording several smaller projects, Corry decided to go to school and study Recording Arts. After a brief stint as a production assistant she decided to return to her roots in song writing. With a handful of songs Corry met producer, musician Ray Garand. Together they collaborated to create her unique, rootsy, Canadian sound and shortly there after came Weighed Down.
This album comes after years of work, writing and personal exploration. The album is entitled Weighed Down in order to reflect a life fully lived but always with some feelings of loss and pain. It talks about dealing with the disappointments of unrealized dreams, realizations of imperfection, and also the joys of living, feeling, being.
Some of the songs on this album that really speak to her are: "Flailing" a musing about adult life with direction but still getting lost along the way, "Your Doors" trying to reach the unreachable, and "All Gone" a tribute to all of us feeling a bit out of place but learning to embrace differences and celebrate each other. "Prayer To" is a tribute to her parents. I'm sure they would be very proud. Corry is realizing a dream and very excited to be releasing this cd and sharing her music with the world.
Her influences include pop, rock, roots, country and blues. She has a passion for Canadian music and honest, edgy songwriting. Armed with a piano and a lot of paper she will continue journaling her life and experiences through song.
